Money Saving Recipes!

Home-Made Hardwood Floor Cleaner:

Baby shampoo

Mix 2 Tablespoons of baby shampoo with 1 gallon of water.

I usually just add a teaspoon of baby shampoo to a spray bottle of water. Seems to work really well. Makes my hardwood floors shiny and spotless! I have tried the recipes with vinegar, but don't like nearly as well.

Home-Made Dishwasher Detergent:

Baking Soda
In a large container with lid add 1/2 of jar of baking soda and 1/2 a jar of borax. Stir well. Use 2 Tablespoons of detergent in dishwasher. Great recipe for those who have hard water! I just started using this recipe and am hoping over time I will have a cleaner dishwasher.

HOME-Made Fabric softener:

Makes about a gallon. I used a washed gallon milk jug.

1 cup baking soda
6 cups distilled white vinegar
8 cups water
10-15 drops of essential oil of choice (lavender, rose, peppermint)

Mix all ingredients in large bowl then using a funnel add to gallon sized jug. Make sure to add the vinegar slowly so it doesn't bubble over.

Do any of you have any money-saving recipes to share?
