Like a Drop in the Bucket

The nations are like a drop in the bucket, and are considered to be like dust on a scale. The weight of the islands is like fine dust. Isaiah 40:15

We serve a BIG God!

You've been praying for your unsaved husband, mother, father, Grandfather, Grandmother, aunt, uncle, cousin, brothers, sisters, friends, enemies for years, but haven't seen results.  Let me encourage you: DON'T GIVE UP! Keep praying, keep trusting.  God hears your prayers and He is at work in the heart of each sinner.

Behold, I am Yahweh, the God of all flesh: is there anything too hard for me? Jeremiah 32:27

The unrepentant sinner you think will never be saved- God can save him! Just last week my husband's G-pa made Jesus his Lord and Savior!
That morning, our Grandpa was at our house and was having a difficult time breathing.   He had pneumonia and was hospitalized later that day.  My 10 year old daughter had been very concerned about her Grandpa not knowing the Lord. Our family has been praying for him for years, but with no results.
Tuesday afternoon my daughter told me that she thought in her head that her G-pa would never get saved and that it would be impossible.  Right after she thought that she pulled out a daily scripture from our "bread box" and it said, "With God all things are possible." Matthew 19:26 She was amazed and knew God was speaking to her. She then went downstairs to pray and ask God to send someone to talk to him about the Lord. We've tried to talk to him about the Lord before and share the gospel, but he had always believed he was "good enough" and didn't need salvation. He believed in God and thought that was enough.  During her prayer my daughter Emma felt God tell her that she is the one to talk to him and to write him a letter. She wrote him a 1 1/2 page letter.  That evening we got the call that he was in the hospital. My daughter knew it was the perfect time to give him the letter. Instead of giving him the letter, she felt God tell her to read it to him. We shared the gospel with our Grandpa and was surprised to see that he was very eager to hear the gospel and pray to the Lord.  That night our family got to see a different Grandpa than we saw earlier that morning. We saw a Grandpa that was humbled and believed that he was truly a sinner and that he needed a Savior.  That night he asked Jesus to be his Lord and Savior and meant it with all his heart. He was broken and his eyes were filled with tears. By the time we left the hospital our Grandpa's fever was completely broke, his breathing restored,  his face was full of radiance, and his eyes was full of light!  Our God is a BIG God!! He can truly do anything! Don't give up, don't get discouraged, keep praying for your unsaved friends, family, and enemies! Pray that God humbles them, that they come to Him with a broken and contrite heart.  God will answer! You may not see instant results, but God is at work in the hearts of each sinner.

This week my daughter was outside at Grandpa's and found an old bucket. She asked him if she could keep it and he said, "of course sweetie, you can have anything you want."  We decided to make the bucket a place where we put all our answers to prayer in with the following verse:

The nations are like a drop in the bucket, and are considered to be like dust on a scale. The weight of the islands is like fine dust. Isaiah 40:15

This verse will remind us how big our God is. We've decided that Thanksgiving Day will be a perfect day to read each one and remember that truly all things are possible with God.
