It's hard to believe that we have started our 3rd year of homeschool this week! I was hoping to begin the new school year well rested after a long summer break, but it didn't quite work out that way unfortunately. We began the month of June with the news that my Grandma had a stroke. Within a week my Grandma had a stroke, brain surgery, and almost went into cardiac arrest. The Lord decided to keep my Grandma here for awhile longer and after about a month in the nursing home, she is back at home! (Praise Jesus!!) After the stroke she is no longer able to make meals for herself or my Grandpa so that is where I have been trying to help out. It's the very least I can do for her after the many years of her faithful service to her family. We also have a 7 month old in the house that has learned how to army crawl quite well and can easily find trouble so I can already tell that this is going to be a busy year. I've been taking steps back from social media sites such as facebook and blogging. The season I'm in requires me to say no to alot of good things to make room for the best things. This school year I am planning on doing more reading as a family, enjoying the "little" things, and relying more on the leading of the Lord instead of rigid schedules and to-do lists. (Not that those are bad) It just seems like I allow my lists to rule over me instead of me over them. This year we have a 7th grader, 4th grader, 4 year old preschooler, and a 7 month old baby boy! Here is a list of what we are planning to use for each one: (Sorry I didn't provide the links... not much time)
