A poem I wrote a few weeks ago-
If it wasn’t for the darkness we’d never see the stars. ⭐️
The Comforts of Our God
Hidden by the rays of sun,
Revealed when darkness seems to have won,
Numerous as the stars that shine,
Revealed in troublesome and trying times.
A thousand comforts we finally see,
Once blinded by prosperity.
We’d never wish for hardships sore,
But our hearts find Him and so much more.
It’s in our losses that we find gain,
Our souls grow strong through struggle, through pain.
Invisible treasures of mercy and grace,
Revealed in the furnace of sufferings we face.
His Word becomes sweeter and promises
real,
We learn to trust His heart and not in the way that we feel.
A faithful Lord, amongst the pain,
we asked for flowers, but He answered with rain.
In sorrow we find comfort,
in darkness we see light,
The stars of hope we’d never see if not for the night.
Our Sovereign Lord, He gives and He takes,
In brokenness He’s the God Who remakes.
He’ll finish the Work if we will only trust,
That He’s truly good, loving, forgiving, and just.
The comforts of our God isn’t found in earthly pleasures,
But found simply in His presence, who gives comfort without measure.
