A poem I wrote today…
Tears are Prayers
Tears are prayers when void of words,
Seen by our Father, although they’re not heard.
He collects every teardrop in His bottle of sorrows,
Holding past tears and the tears of tomorrow.
Tears softly flow and reach our Father’s heart,
When words won’t suffice, our tears can impart.
Tears speak, often silent, in the heart they begin,
Overflowing from sorrow or joy from within.
Each teardrop can hold many thousands of cares,
Relieving the weight that we’ve tried to bear.
Tears gently cascading down from our eyes,
Salted with grief, often comes by surprise.
Tears oft’ like snowflakes faintly cover the ground,
Not knowing in grieving even beauty is found.
Take heart my friend, in weeping, for our Savior, He wept too,
For tears can do for us what words can never do.
Jesus’ tears helps the world to see,
Our Savior and His humanity.
So let them fall, this liquid grace,
Coming from a tear stained face.
For tears are prayers that loudly speak,
though soft and quiet, lowly, meek.
